Most of the genealogy websites have been created by genealogy lovers. GeneaStar have been created in the year 2000 by Jérôme Galichon and Emmanuelle Visseaux who are interested in the famous genealogies : "After all, doesn't everyone want to know if that celebrity is related to his ancestors ?".
Jérôme and Emmanuelle picked up the Frédéric Thébault idea and created the StarGenWeb website which soon became very popular. Then, they changed the name to GeneaStar.
After 7 years of regular updates, Jérôme and Emmanuelle decided to overlook it and give GeneaStar a chance to be more successfull thanks to GeneaNet.
